AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic admits there’s a lot of disappointment after their 1-0 Champions League defeat at Porto.

The Swede concedes they deserved nothing from the game.

Despite being unbeaten in Serie A so far this season, AC Milan cannot find a way to win in the Champions League.

Making their first group-phase appearance in eight years, Milan were beaten 1-0 at Porto in Group B on Tuesday for their third straight defeat in the competition thanks to Luis Diaz’s 65th-minute winner.

It’s the first time that Milan, who brought Zlatan Ibrahimovic on in the second half, have lost the first three matches in the group stage of the Champions League.

Speaking after the game, Ibrahimovic said: “of all the three games, this was our worst performance and therefore we don’t deserve the points,” Ibrahimovic told Mediaset.

“Sometimes you can play badly and still bring points home, but never mind. We have to remember this is the first Champions League for many of our players and they just need to grow.

“You can see in Serie A that they bring that increased experience, tempo and knowledge to the league as well, they grow after every Champions League match.”

He added: “We are missing some players, but that’s football. I just returned, I’m happy to play, but need more minutes to get match fitness and form. It’ll arrive slowly.

“There are three games to go. We fought last season to qualify for the Champions League, so as long as it’s possible, we keep fighting. I am confident, the win will come.”
