The Director, Media and Communication of Stevie Ozono/Festus Osadolor Campaign Organisation of the National Rescue Movement (NRM), Oka Shedrach, has said the party is committed to rescuing Edo State from bad leadership.
He said NRM’s standard-bearer, Stevie Ozono, was the candidate to beat.
Shedrach, in a statement yesterday in Benin, said NRM was not among the 35 parties alleged to have collected N5million each from Governor Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to endorse him for the election.
He said: “The governorship candidate of NRM, Ozono, is a vibrant, young man with a track record of getting things done. My plea to our great people of Edo State is to come out and elect a more pragmatic man.
“Ozono’s agenda for Edo State include programmes that will create wealth and eradicate poverty, massive job creation in the agricultural and ICT sectors, human capital and infrastructural development, as well as the promotion of social welfare and governance for citizens.
“Obaseki is urged to stop campaigning. He should start packing his luggage out of the Government House, to avoid disgrace, as he stands disqualified, going by the court cases against him, especially on certificate forgery and perjury.”
Shedrach advised the electorate not to vote for recycled, old and remote-controlled candidates during the September 19 election.
