NASFAT To Screen 10,000 Persons For HIV, Hepatitis

An Islamic based Charity Organisation, Nasru Lahi-L-Fatih Society NASFAT is set to carry out free HIV and Hepatitis screening exercise for Ten Thousand Nigerians.

According to the NASFAT National Publicity Secretary, Akeem Yusuf in a statement, the screening is part of the Health Education Livelihood and Da’wah, HELD policy of the Society.

The National Health Services Secretary of the society, Dr Rukayat Ajibola – Bakare, said the screening exercise slated for Sunday 20th, November, 2020 is to hold at the society’s Headquarter, Lagos State Secretariat Mosque Alausa Ikeja Lagos and all the zones of the society across the country.

Ten thousand persons are expected to benefit from the exercise. Also, vaccine for Hepatitis B would be administered at a very subsidised rate during the programme in collaboration with Mike Omotosho Foundation.

According to her, the “know Your Health Status” embarked on by NASFAT in the last few Months is laudable. The society started with free screening exercise for Daibetes and Hypertension in the Month of November with over five thousand beneficiaries across her zones.

Also the , Nasfat health services in collaboration with the women affairs commitee, screened her women members for breast and cervical cancer ,just early this month using a highly sophisticated method of screening,pap smear and Hpvdna testing.

The president of NASFAT, Mr Niyi Yusuf said NASFAT takes very seriously the health of her members and other Nigerians. Hence, the “Know Your Health Status” programme cannot be over emphasized for adequate health care.

He urged all members of the society to always adhere strictly to all the COVID 19 protocols during the exercise, in the Asalatu grounds and all other public places.
