Covid-19: Vaccination for Pilgrims to commence from May 31st.

Intending Pilgrims for this years’ Hajj have been assured of meeting the vaccination requirements by Saudi Arabia as the Federal Capital Territory,FCT have made preparations for them to take their second dose of Covid 19 Vaccination from Monday 31st May, 2021.

According to a quote by the Director of the Board, Mallam Muhammad Nasiru DanMallam ,in the press statement by the Public Relation Officer, Muslim Pilgrim, FCT-MPWB, Muhammad Lawal Aliyu ,the board gave the assurance on the FCT Administration’s arrangements to ensure that intending pilgrims have fulfilled all requirements for this year’s hajj exercise.

Mallam DanMallam disclosed that the Health Secretariat of the FCTA has provided enough vaccines that would be administered to the Intending Pilgrims from the Territory in line with the requirements for this year’s Hajj by Saudi Arabia.

The Director said the exercise would be carried out at the headquarters of the Board with Intending pilgrims who register at the Headquarters on Monday 31/05/2021 and Tuesday 1/06/2021 from 9 o’clock in the morning.

He disclosed that Intending Pilgrims from Abuja Municipal Area councils are expected to take their first dose of the vaccine on Wednesday 2/06/2021 while those from Bwari Area Councils would take theirs on Thursday 3/06/2021.

Similarly, Intending Pilgrims from Gwagwalada Area Council are to be vaccinated on Friday 4/06/2021, to be followed by those from Kuje Area Council that will be vaccinated on Monday 7/06/2021.

According to DanMallam, Intending Pilgrims from Kwali Area Council are to be vaccinated on Tuesday 8/06/2021 and those from Abaji Area council are expected to take their second dose of the vaccine on Wednesday 9/06/2021.

He called the attention of the Intending pilgrims to note that the inoculation exercise is an obligation that needed to be fulfilled to meetup with traveling requirements to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He assured that the Board is working hard to make all necessary arrangement for the religious exercise while waiting for further directives on the 2021 Hajj from relevant authorities.

Hajj 2021 will tentatively begin in the evening of Saturday, 17 July and end in the evening of Thursday, 22 July
