The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers has faulted Governor Nyesom Wike’s allegations that the Federal Government had done nothing to address the soot menace in the State.

The party in a statement by its State Publicity Secretary, Senibo Chris Finebone, said it was unacceptable for the Governor to accuse the Federal Government of inaction when he had not initiated any concrete action requiring synergy.
Finebone accused the Governor of trying to reap political dividends from his fight against the soot saying such motive would stall the state government’s efforts to address the problem.
He said after many years of inaction by the State, it was wrong for Wike to begin to blame the environmental disaster on everybody apart from himself.
He, however, acknowledged that Wike’s allegations against security personnel had some substance and should be investigated by the authorities.
