The Integrity Mandate Group, a group of young elites ,professionals and politicians  from Yagba Federal constituency of Kogi State has  intensified its efforts at identifying  suitable candidates for the 2019 election into various positions in the constituency.
Rising from another meeting held in Lokoja, The Kogi state capital earlier today, the group noted that the need for  credible candidates to be presented as representatives of the people at the National Assembly is important to emancipate the people from poverty and outright deprivation.
Explaining the modus operandi of the group, its spokesman, Mr Durojaiye Hassan, said that the group mobilises grassroot support for its endorsed candidates. He said  there is indeed currently an ongoing opinion  survey to identify credible candidates for the senate and other posts in the forthcoming elections amongst the many stakeholders in the constituency.
“2019 is around the corner, and as a group of critical stakeholders in the Yagba East /West /Mopa Amuro Federal Constituency who believes in an egalitarian society , we have taken it upon ourselves not just to champion the cause of having our constituency produce the next Senator and House of Representatives  for Kogi West, but also to ensure that a credible person emerges at the end of the day.
“The stagnation and lack of development we have witnessed in Yagba land in particular and Kogi State in general are as a result of the quality of people that have been representing us. We are determined to change that in the forthcoming elections through the people’s power. Never again shall we have people who will not truly represent the interest of our people in political office”, Hassan said.
It would be recalled that the Integrity Mandate Group had recently called on the former Managing Director of DailyTrust Newspaper,  Alhaji Isiaq Ajibola, to join the race for the House of Representatives for the Yagba  Federal Constituency of the Kogi West senatorial district.
The group hinged their call on Mr Ajibola on his track record as an achiever, a man of the people, with high level of integrity, who can be trusted.
According to Hassan, Ajibola “had squeezed water out of stone” to co-build a viable media enterprise in Nigeria. He insisted that the group believes that he will bring his experience in the private sector to bear in providing dividends of democracy that the people are yet to experience over the years.‎
